Luminarium at Nottingham Lakeside Arts Centre

As part of Nottingham University’s Lakeside Arts Centre’s children’s festival (brilliantly called Wheee!), the Architects of Air returned with another luminarium. A luminarium is a large inflatable structure, made up of different coloured chambers that are lit by the sun.

It’s a strange environment and makes for a great location for a photographer – the shapes and colours are fantastic.

The Luminarium looks suspiciously like the Colourscape tents we danced in for a project in south London in the late 70s. No problem there. It’s great to see them again as the atmosphere created was really enjoyable and an aid to creative development.
